With ever more emphasis being placed on study abroad and service learning opportunities for students, many of us are designing our own faculty-led adventures with students as we engage in experiential learning outside the classroom. Some questions to consider might include what constitutes a successful travel experience, what strategies we emply to assure that all participants are as engaged as possible, and how we evaluate student learning in a travel context.
The session "Practical Approaches to Teaching Literature through Travel and Off-campus Study" welcomes proposals for 15-20 minute presentations on faculty-led study of literature and culture in a travel context.
Please send inquiries and abstracts to Louise Stoehr (firstname.lastname@example.org). Deadline for submissions is 1 March 2012.
