In this creative panel we will gather voices from a wide array of poet-scholars that write in and experiment with their original languages, and will present their works in both their original languages and in their English translations. This creative session welcomes a variety of sounds, themes, approaches, experiments, that work within the poetic realm. The Italian poet Giuseppe Ungaretti in an interview said: “La poesia è poesia quando porta in sé un segreto” (“Poetry is poetry when it carries within itself a secret”), and having these haunting lines in mind, I invite each of our poet-scholars in the US and from around the world to submit innovative, moving, and experimental poetic pieces to share them both in their original languages and in their English translations. All forms of poetry are welcome: written, visual, sound, and experimental. However, to the extent possible, I would like to preserve the multilingual nature of the panel. Subtitles and translations should be provided wherever possible and applicable.

Abstract Submission Deadline: September 30, 2021. Decisions on proposals will be made by October 15, 2021.
